An American artist based in Paris, Hilton McConnico won a César for the sets of the film Diva. In 1987 he began working with Daum, for whom he designed the Cactus collection, which became one of the crystal maker's best-known series. A piece from the collection was given by François Mitterrand to George H. W. Bush during a state visit. These earrings take up the motif in miniature.
