Vase N from Claude Dumas's Abécédaire series, 1980s. It is the twentieth of the twenty-six forms in the series.
Ceramicist, sculptor and designer born in 1955, Claude Dumas has headed the ceramic sculpture department at the Beaux-Arts de Paris since 2002. In the Abécédaire series, designed in the 1980s, each letter of the alphabet becomes a form referring to a period or movement in art history. The upright, frontal Vase N recalls the high reliefs of ancient Egypt.
Glazed ceramic, speckled green, matt finish.
