Crowned head vase by Pierre Casenove for Saint-Clément, 1990s.
Crowned head vase in white biscuit, by Pierre Casenove for the Saint-Clément faience manufactory, circa 1990.
Born in Céret in 1943, ceramicist and artist Pierre Casenove worked with several French manufacturers: Fondica for metal, the Lunéville manufactory for faience and Artésia in Limoges for porcelain. One of his porcelain pieces is held by the Musée national Adrien Dubouché. These vases show his neo-antique vocabulary: a clean profile, almond-shaped eye, pointed crown and striated hair.
On its own, it sits on a console or a mantelpiece, with or without dried flowers. Two identical pieces are available, enough to make a pair on either side of a mirror or fireplace.
Price per piece.
Condition: good condition, a few light marks in the biscuit, shown in the photos.
